Hi, I'm Samantha! I'm the baker, blogger, photographer, and writer behind Savor The Spoonful. First of all, thank you for being here!
I started Savor The Spoonful during my sophomore year of college when I had the spark of motivation to start a food blog. All my life, I've always loved four things more than anything else: Horses, Jesus, Baking, and Photography.
I was intrigued by the idea of combining my love of baking with my passion for photography. I had never tried food photography specifically, but I was excited to expand my photography skillset and learn the craft.
From the comfort of my dorm room, I quickly started researching everything I needed to start a food blog. Not too long afterward, Savor The Spoonful was born.
Why "Savor The Spoonful"?
I named my blog Savor The Spoonful because I believe you should savor every spoonful of your food. Have you ever heard the phrase, "guilt-free?" Yeah, me too. And let me tell you how much I hate it.
"Guilt" should never be a word associated with eating. Our bodies need food to live a healthy, happy, fulfilling, life. And that absolutely includes indulgent treats and decadent desserts. My mission with Savor The Spoonful is to inspire a life without food rules and dieting.
I (just like many women in the world) know what it's like to deal with disordered eating habits and the struggles that come along with them. Unfortunately, I know many others have experienced similar struggles, and I want Savor The Spoonful to be a safe space where you can find delicious recipes without the diet talk attached.
To put it simply, "guilt" is not an ingredient here. This is a diet-free zone! All foods belong in a healthy and balanced diet, and nobody should feel the pressure to restrict themselves from enjoying the desserts they love.
Dietary-Friendly Options
Here, you'll find a variety of vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free breakfast and dessert recipes that are super easy to make. As a plant-based eater, I want to provide dietary-friendly recipes for you that don't require any fancy baking skills or extensive time to make. We're all busy, and baking should be fun!
If you're here as a fellow food photographer or blogger, I have plenty of helpful resources for you too. If you're wondering how to start your own food blog, improve your food photography, or work with food brands, take a peek at my one-on-one coaching services. I'd love to help you!
