Hi, I'm Samantha! I'm the baker, blogger, photographer, and writer behind Savor The Spoonful. First of all, thank you for being here!

I started Savor The Spoonful during my sophomore year of college when I had the incredible (and quite random) spark of motivation to start a food blog. All my life, I have always loved four things more than anything else: Horses, Jesus, Baking, and Photography.
I was fascinated by the idea of combining my love of baking with my passion for photography. Had I ever tried food photography, specifically? Nope. But you bet I was ready and eager to learn.
From the comfort of my dorm room, I quickly started researching everything I needed to start a food blog. Not too long afterward, Savor The Spoonful was born.
Why "Savor The Spoonful"?
I named my blog Savor The Spoonful because I truly believe you should savor every spoonful of your food. Have you ever heard the phrase, "guilt-free?" Yeah, me too. And let me tell you how much I hate it.
"Guilt" should never be a word associated with eating. Our bodies need food to live a healthy, happy, fulfilling, and long life. And that absolutely includes indulgent treats and decadent desserts. My mission with Savor The Spoonful is to inspire a life without food rules and dieting. Why?
Because you deserve a life like that. I know what it's like to deal with disordered eating habits and the mental and physical struggles that come along with it. Unfortunately, I know many other people have experienced similar struggles, and I want Savor The Spoonful to be a safe space where you can find recipes without the diet talk attached.
To put it simply, "guilt" is not an ingredient here. None of us have time for those made-up phrases, and none of us should have to deal with diet culture that labels foods as good or bad. Because there is no such thing. All foods belong in a healthy diet, and nobody should ever feel pressure to restrict themselves from enjoying it.
